Depreciation has not been kind to the Hyundai Equus, just 7 years ago it cost more than $62,000. Now? Just under $11,000. It’s a great looking car, full of equipment no one would ever need (and therefore I want), reliable, and fairly quick with its 5.0 L V8 pumping out 429 horsepower.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

At this rate, I’ll easily be able to afford one after I graduate and get a decent job.

Wow that is some serious deprecation.

~62k in 2011 would have bought you a new E9X M3; mine was 65k.

Bonus points if you can find an Ultimate model with the dual rear seats.

$11k? Oof, that’s a breathtaking drop, but I’ve never heard anything bad about these cars (granted, that may be because no one bought one?).

they’re good cars, but who wants a full-size luxury car from Hyundai?

For $62k? NOPE!

But for $11k, why the hell not?

cheapest i’ve seen is $12500 for one with a rebuilt title, otherwise you’re looking around $15,000+. It’d be the one I have, because massaging seats.

If given the choice right now, I’d have the Equus, simply because I don’t have the money to maintain an M3. But the E92 M3 is one of my favorite cars, they’re simply gorgeous.

exactly, plus it’s easy and relatively cheap to get serviced and since they sold so few, it looks like a newer car than it is!

Great, now I’m looking at these on Autotrader - there’s 1 for $14k in Naperville...

I would assume the M3 would be more to run.

very true, but having a nicer car than you’d expect for the money isn’t a bad problem to have

Korean “Luxury” cars are always fantastic value but personally that’s too many miles for me. But that V8 should be fun!

My parents almost bought an Equuis back in 2013 to replace my Moms Prius. The dealer was offering like 12k off. They got a blue 2.0tSonata instead mainly because my mom didn’t want a silver car.

I’m no stranger to high miles (266k on my Lexus, 197k on my Acura), so this is actually low miles in my book haha
